Coverdrone, a provider of specialist insurance cover for commercial and recreational users of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), has announced the launch of new features for the company’s drone insurance policies.
Drone insurance is now available in a range of flexible policy periods from one day to one year as well as all possible time periods in between. Policies can be purchased by registering with Coverdrone via an app, over the phone or via the company’s website. Changes can be made at any time via the website.
Commercial clients will automatically be issued with Aviation Authority registration forms, previously only provided once a client had purchased a policy. Coverdrone has also made its annual policy available to recreational drone users for the first time.
Coverdrone is now offering free flight examination cover for clients going through any flight examination with any NQE within the UK. Once registered clients will be able to obtain a free flight examination policy, liability only, for either themselves or anybody that may be training within their business.
Coverdrone’s FlySafe app, previously exclusive to Coverdrone clients, is now completely free of charge to anyone. The Flysafe app allows users to log their flight, thus allowing other operators to view their whereabouts. The app provides essential features to assist operators with varying levels of experience, and includes a range of safety data to help with flying decisions, such as environmental conditions, flying restrictions, safety hazards and more. Airspace maps are also accessible to help plan a flight.
