Ascent Vision Technologies (AVT) has announced that it has completed the latest phase of field testing of the company’s eXpeditionary Mobile Air Defense Integrated System (X-MADIS) counter-drone system, following a contract awarded by the U.S. Air Force for multiple X-MADIS units. The contract was awarded to AVT after an extensive period of testing, trials and evaluation across multiple military services and operational spectrums.
This latest testing phase, conducted at an undisclosed location, focused on optimizing the system for the Air Force’s selected platforms, while validating the performance characteristics of the X-MADIS for the Air Force’s programs, and providing critical information for documenting operational procedures.
X-MADIS detects, locates, tracks, identifies and defeats small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) by combining the capabilities of radar, optics, radio frequency detection and electronic command and control mitigation of the aircraft. With the ability to operate from both static and moving platforms, the system is an ideal solution to help counter the growth of hostile drone attacks.

AVT has planned another phase of testing with the Air Force in the near future to further refine their specific mission parameters.
