FLIR has launched the Vue TZ20, a high-resolution dual thermal sensor gimbal designed specially for the DJI Matrice V2 200 Series and Matrice 300 UAS (unmanned aerial systems).
The new gimbal is designed to provide critical situational awareness for public safety applications such as police, fire, and search and rescue, as well as industrial and infrastructure inspection.
The Vue TZ20 incorporates both a wide-angle Boson sensor with a 95-degree field of view, and a narrow-angle Boson sensor with a 19-degree field of view. Featuring a 640×512 resolution and a 20x digital thermal zoom, it allows drone operators to safely capture high-resolution thermal data from a distance. The lightweight system weighs just 640 grams (1.4 lbs) and is IP44-rated to allow it to be flown even in wet weather conditions.
The new gimbal has been developed with the DJI Payload Software Development Kit (PSDK) and DJI Skyport 2.0 platform, offering simplified, plug-and-play operation through the DJI Pilot Software. Capabilities of the payload include thermal video streaming, video recording, and still-image capture with 20x zoom, providing everything UAS pilots need to capture detailed thermal imagery at safe distances.
