Trillium Engineering has confirmed the sale of its 2,000th unit as the company’s pioneering product, the HD25 drone gimbal.

As Trillium’s pioneering product, the incorporation of technology typically found in larger systems was the ultimate challenge. The deliberately designed HD25 holds the same capabilities expected in 8-10″ sized systems, offering smaller airframes a competitive edge.

The HD25-LV is an EO/IR configuration with a 3x optical zoom visible camera and a fixed focal length uncooled LWIR camera.

“It’s crazy to think we’ve sold 2,000 units in ten short years, and the HD25, the first product we ever brought to market, is also our 2,000 unit sold,” said founder, Rob Gilchrist.  “While this unit is our second generation of the HD25, it’s the same 2.5-inch class stabilized EO/IR Camera System that launched our company.”

In 2013, Rob Gilchrist and Jeff Fisher founded Trillium Engineering, based on their extensive knowledge in unmanned payloads. They saw the need for a smaller, lighter, more powerful gimbal imaging system designed for the Class I UAS. Since the inception of the company, Trillium has since diversified its product line offering gimbals for the Class I, II, and III UAS, but the HD25 continues to thrive among its UAS imaging system competitors.

“It’s clear that our early innovation in Class I imaging systems, not only put us on the map but continues to legitimize the quality of Trillium Engineering products in a growing market,” said CEO Mark Mirelez.
