The Ziyan Shadow Series unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has won the prestigious 2024 German iF Design Award.
Since its establishment in 1953, the iF Design Award has stood as a global symbol of excellence in design. Its criteria are rigorous, recognizing outstanding design, premium user experiences, and representing a hallmark of trustworthy quality. The award is renowned for its independent, rigorous, and reliable judging standards.
The selection process for the iF Design Award is intense and highly competitive. This year, with submissions from 72 countries and regions totaling nearly 11,000 entries, the Shadow Series UAV stood out among the multitude of designs.
Recognized by an international panel of expert judges, its breakthrough industrial aesthetic design and intelligent maneuverability set it apart, offering users a blend of elegance and practicality while ensuring efficient and secure operational experiences.
According to Ziyan, the accolade not only celebrates the innovation and technical prowess of its team but also signifies remarkable achievements in the field of UAV design.
Unlike traditional UAVs, shadow design concept is deeply rooted in geometry, lines, and technological sense, exuding robust futuristic aesthetics. Its fuselage boasts sleek lines, radiating streamlined beauty while following minimalistic design principles. The gray-black color scheme and cohesive style prevent visual fatigue.
Drawing inspiration from elements like rhinoceroses, seahorses, and fastback features, Ziyan skillfully integrated them into the curved design, resulting in a shorter, more compact drone body. According to Ziyan, the company’s design philosophy aims for fewer contour lines, a more cohesive overall form, and smoother transitions to craft a refined and upscale product aesthetic.
The Shadow Series’ award follows its recent previous win of the 2024 FDA French Design Award.
