1. Inertial Labs Partners with Sony on Drone LiDAR
Inertial Labs is to develop an advanced LiDAR system with Sony for the Airpeak drone. The collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of drones in various applications, including surveying, mapping, and cinematic videography.
Harnessing the expertise of Inertial Labs in sensor technology, the new LiDAR system promises to deliver unprecedented accuracy and detail in aerial mapping and 3D modeling. 2. uAvionix Awarded BVLOS Contract with FAA
uAvionix is to advance the commercial utilization of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) in the National Airspace System (NAS) through a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) contract.
The Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) contract aims to develop highly reliable Command and Control (C2) communications for extended Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations across challenging terrains.
3. AVSS Unveil Drone Parachute Recovery System
AVSS – Aerial Vehicle Safety Solutions Inc., leading developers of drone Parachute Recovery Systems (PRS) and flight termination systems for UAVs, introduces the new PRS for the DJI Dock 2, the PRS-M3DT.
The PRS-M3DT includes a Parachute Recovery System, a Flight Termination System (FTS), an Automatic Triggering System (ATS), a Manual Triggering Device (MTD), and EASA 2512 and ASTM F3322 documentation. Incorporating plug-and-play design, the PRS-M3DT for the DJI Dock 2 is compatible with the DJI M3DT and DJI M3D.
4. Partnership to Integrate of Transmission Technologies with UAV Ground Control Stations
UXV Technologies and Company of Electronic Technologies LLC (KORT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a partnership on integration of transmission technologies in ground control stations for operating unmanned systems.
Based on the collaboration agreement, KORT’s technology in areas such as radio and video communication will be integrated with UXV Technologies’ ground control stations to control various types of unmanned or remotely operated platforms, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and weapon stations.
5. New Powerful & Rugged Mission Specialist ROV Unveiled
VideoRay, a manufacturer of portable underwater robots, has launched ‘Ally’, its new compact design, four-thruster Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).
Delivering a 4-knot forward speed with lateral thrust capability, Ally’s base configuration features LED lights and VideoRay’s new Ultra 4K Smart Camera with onboard processing. Other configurations include a unique spring-loaded vertical manipulator capable of lifting loads up to 9.5kg (21 lbs), as well as a forward-looking sonar and DVL (Doppler Velocity Log) for customers requiring navigation.
