EpiSci, a software company developing next generation operator trusted autonomy and AI solutions, are set to accelerate the delivery of advanced autonomous systems by integrating its TacticalAI software into Northrop Grumman’s aeronautics solutions architecture.

Autonomous Battle Systems Enhanced with AI Solutions

Northrop Grumman’s autonomy systems use the U.S. government’s open-architecture design to incorporate third-party collaborative platform technologies. This enables uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) to adapt to changing mission requirements and provide flexibility to military commanders in complex environments.

Human-machine teaming and cognitive sensing, adaptive communications and networking systems, and next generation battle management command and control (BMC2) are enhanced by EpiSci’s TacticalAI, upgrading mission-critical autonomy solutions.

EpiSci say that its TacticalAI software is hardware agnostic, operationally informed, and tactically relevant with deployments on a growing list of systems, from swarms of uncrewed aerial and maritime systems, to tactical fighter aircraft. The complementary relationship and technology offering expands EpiSci’s TacticalAI into a new generation of platforms.

“The collaboration formalizes the relationship between EpiSci and Northrop Grumman. We look forward to working with Northrop Grumman as we rapidly integrate our software into their hardware and control systems. Delivering trusted autonomous solutions is critical for our warfighter’s mission success and this collaboration presents us a fantastic opportunity to get our software into their hands more quickly,” stated Dr. Dan ‘Animal’ Javorsek, EpiSci’s Chief Technology Officer.

Tom Pieronek, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Research and Technology and Aeronautics Systems at Northrop Grumman, added; “Northrop Grumman continues to collaborate with innovative small businesses, like EpiSci, to help meet the needs of our customers. Collaboration is one way to rapidly bring new capabilities to the warfighter while building upon Northrop Grumman’s decades of autonomy experience to create distinct advantages over adversarial threats.”
