Skyeton is a leading manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for mission-critical applications such as border monitoring, disaster management, wildfire prevention and battlefield ISR. UST is delighted to welcome Skyeton on board as a supplier partner, and we will be highlighting their unique solutions and capabilities across our channels over the next 12 months.
We’ve just launched Skyeton’s UST supplier profile, which has been written and built by our team in collaboration with the company. The Platinum profile showcases the Raybird, a small fixed-wing tactical UAS designed for extended reconnaissance missions.
Read on to find out more:
Raybird features an unmatched 28 hours of continuous flight time, an exceptional range of 2500 km, and a maximum flight altitude of up to 4500m. Ready for deployment from unprepared terrain in under 25 minutes, it can operate under any weather conditions and offers mission flexibility with easy payload swaps in under one minute. The Raybird’s reliability has been tested and battle-proven by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Raybird is a comprehensive UAS solution featuring a long-endurance UAV, ground control system, catapult launcher, payload options, and robust antenna for reliable communications. The flexible unmanned aircraft can carry up to 5kg of payload, including a gyro-stabilized multi-sensor gimbal for intelligence gathering, specialized radars and sensors for targeted missions, and a high-resolution aerial camera for detailed mapping.
Raybird’s mechanical catapult launch enables reliable takeoff even from the roughest terrain, and in strong winds where other systems such as VTOL aircraft fail. With up to 28 hours of flight time, it can successfully undertake missions that other systems cannot, including extended surveillance, long-range reconnaissance, continuous target tracking, and other assignments that demand exceptional persistence.
The aircraft’s intelligent autonomous system enables it to overcome a wide variety of challenging situations, including electronic warfare (EW), low fuel levels, complex environments, and unforeseen hazards. Best-in-class durability is ensured thanks to its automatic parachute recovery system and retracting mechanism that guarantee the integrity of the payload and UAV during missions.
